The challenged Ahead:

The Manager Engineering leads the development and delivery of engineering strategies, standards, processes, systems and frameworks for capital projects, ensuring that engineering enables safe, efficient and effective construction, commissioning and operations. The role acts as the single point of accountability for Project Engineering with the Study or Project Manager, integrating scope, cost, schedule, value and risk across the project lifecycle.
Our Project Portfolio currently consists of several Medium and Major Process and Non-Process Infrastructure Projects with a strong concentration of them in the Tailings area. This role will focus on the engineering administration of several of these tailing’s projects and their integration in their respective asset.
The role reports to the Director of the Engineering and Quality function.
Where the project or portfolio is in the execution phase, the role may be required to work on a 4×3 roster (Escondida o Spence).

Main Responsabilities:

• Strongly aimed to a safety focus.
• Provide engineering expertise and management of engineering resources to support projects development and delivery.
• Manages the project engineering resources and act as a single point of contact for the project or study manager for all project engineering deliverables and inputs.
• Leads performance management of Project Engineering performed by 3rd parties within the project.
• Ensures that project engineering development & execution activities achieve the integrated project scope, cost & schedule requirements and manages disciplines engineering resources.
• Drives adherence to all statutory and operational technical and engineering standards.
• Lead engineering governance and assurance activities, ensuring compliance with technical, business, operational, legal and functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner closely with Construction, Delivery, Commissioning, Ops Readiness and Operations teams to ensure engineering solutions support execution methodologies, operational readiness and efficient project handover.
• Drive continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned, promoting value improvement practices, enhancing engineering productivity, and supporting capital efficiency initiatives across the portfolio.
• Build, mentor and develop high-performing engineering teams by providing coaching, performance feedback, succession planning and capability development aligned with business needs.

What we expect from you:

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, Process, Mechanical, Engineer or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in mining capital projects
• Minimun 10 years in Tailings Storage Facilities design and execution
• Minimun 10 years leading engineering teams in large complex projects.
• Minimun 02 years operating tailings storage facilities.
• Knowledge and experience with engineering contractors, experience in cost estimate, execution plans and scheduling of small and medium mining projects.
• Strong understanding of project controls, cost estimating, scheduling and project execution planning.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in complex project environments.
• Competent in the use of relevant software across the project delivery ecosystem, including MS Office, Aconex, Primavera and other applicable project management and engineering systems.
• Work Location: This role is based in Santiago, Chile. Monday – Friday. Occasional travel to Spence or Escondida mine site will be required.
