About the Role:

BHP is advancing an ambitious portfolio of decarbonisation and infrastructure projects to support our aspiration of achieving net zero operational greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
As Lead/Manager CCI Infrastructure (Energy), you will join the Commercial organisation’s CCI Infrastructure team, leading the commercial strategy and execution of large-scale energy generation, transmission and infrastructure initiatives across South America, while also supporting global opportunities.

Reporting to the Global Head of Commercial CCI Infrastructure and working closely with the regional infrastructure leadership team, you will be accountable for delivering commercial outcomes across a diverse portfolio of energy projects. This includes developing and implementing strategies that support renewable energy objectives, energy security, and long-term value creation for BHP.

As a recognised subject matter expert, you will also support infrastructure projects across Australia, South America and North America.

A key aspect of the position is building and strengthening relationships with developers, operators, financiers and infrastructure partners, helping establish BHP as a leading participant in evolving infrastructure markets. You will also engage with emerging supplier markets and new entrants to encourage competition, innovation and sustainable long-term solutions.

Based in Chile, this position leads a commercial team and collaborates with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Working alongside the Manager Infrastructure (Non-Energy), you will share accountability for delivering successful commercial outcomes across BHP’s broader portfolio of outsourced infrastructure projects.

About You:

We are looking for a commercially minded and collaborative leader with extensive experience in infrastructure transactions and energy markets, capable of delivering innovative solutions to complex business challenges.

You will bring:

• More than 10 years of experience in complex infrastructure outsourcing transactions, preferably within power generation, transmission, or related infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of project financing principles and the valuation of large-scale infrastructure developments.
• Advanced commercial acumen, sound judgment, and the confidence to make courageous decisions in complex and dynamic environments.
• Deep expertise in long-term contracting strategies, including the identification of suitable counterparties, the design of fit-for-purpose competitive processes, and the successful execution of commercial sourcing and negotiation activities.
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to create value while balancing commercial, operational, and strategic objectives.
• Excellent stakeholder management, collaboration, and consensus-building capabilities, with the ability to influence and align diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute commercial strategies that address complex project requirements and deliver sustainable outcomes.
• Experience leading commercial teams, fostering high performance through inclusive, empathetic, and values-driven leadership.
• Confidence and capability to think strategically, communicate effectively, solve complex problems, and deliver outcomes across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Fluent in english and spanish.
