The challenged Ahead:
Provides technical expertise in execution of construction strategies, standards/ frameworks and integration and interface management across the projects lifecycle to ensure delivery in line with the approved statement of requirements.
Add value to the Company by managing a correct development of projects in a safe manner, complying with the requirements of quality, costs and program, in order to enable new facilities and processes that allow fulfilling the purpose of the Project generating value to the business organization. Manage projects ensuring compliance with the standards and KPIs defined ensuring compliance with the scope and its purpose.
- Monitors HSE compliance and applies appropriate methodologies/standards to deliver effective construction projects across BHP.
- Manages the construction execution plan including scope, resources and access to facilities/services to deliver in line with sequencing, budget and schedule.
- Manages contract execution and analysis to maximise operational and financial performance and mitigate exposure and risk.
- Defines project objectives/schedules, identifies critical activities, monitors the project plan/schedule and drives continuous improvement initiatives across projects at BHP.
- Monitors and manages project performance to deliver projects in line with safety standards, requirements, budget and scope.
- Responds to complex interdependencies by taking corrective action that mitigates potential risks/barriers to the achievement of project plan milestones.
- Develops integrated project deliverables and integrates project work across projects through interfacing with stakeholders and managing the successful transition of project/phase closure.
- Defines and implements project performance review plans and controls to accommodate deviations and drive accurate schedule, risk, and outcome monitoring across the project lifecycle.
- Follows risk management processes, conducts risk assessments, complies with standards and accurately reports on risk to maximise safety and value across projects at BHP.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of ICM and BHP risk frameworks and applies that knowledge to manage medium to high risk contracts and provide guidance and advice to Contract Owner/s.
- Explores and iteratively reassesses the best fit solutions, takes ownership of project decisions and outcomes and monitors and manages impacts to value across the project lifecycle (e.g. social, environmental, commercial).
- Determines the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.
- Selects and implements problem solving tools/methodologies appropriate to the problem/context.
- Brings diverse teams together to implement sustainable and value generating solutions.
- Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP’s risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
What we expect from you:
Required:
- Civil Engineer / Mechanical / Electrical / industrial or similar.
Basic/Intermediate English. - Desirable a minimum of 8 years of experience in construction projects, of which at least 5 in large-scale mining.
- Previous experience in the execution of mining projects in Chile and preferably in Brownfield environments.
- Availability to work and travel in the shift system of Mining Sites, adapting to the needs of the Project.
- Ability to work in arid areas, with demanding climatic and geographical conditions, and/or at altitude, is a requirement.
- Technique: Demonstrable experience in construction and assembly, with experience in the development of brownfiled projects
- Leadership: Demonstrate 5 years of experience exercising leadership and management of numerous and multidisciplinary teams, directing or managing works with multidisciplinary teams.
- Stakeholder Engagement: 5 years of experience in negotiations with engineering and construction contractors, understanding project implications and commitment to stakeholders.
