About the Role:

The Senior Project Director will have the following functions:

• Establish the execution strategy for studies and execution, including organization, personnel, expertise, engineering service providers, procurement and contracting, construction contractors, processes & procedures and offices / site facilities etc.
• Manage the studies through BHP stage gates and governance process to ensure project alternatives are comprehensively evaluated and the business case is fully optimized in line with KVDs (incl. throughput, recovery, cost, schedule, capital efficiency and ramp up).
• Ensure project studies are concluded, for the execution phase, as per the statement of requirements (SOR) with a finalized scope of work, estimate, schedule, execution strategy (PES) and plan (PEP), permits, risk mitigations and commercial agreements.
• Manage the project execution phase including engineering consultants and contractors, to ensure projects are successfully delivered in terms of HSS, scope, cost, cash-flow and schedule.
• Implement and actively manage key project management processes in accordance with BHP requirements including.
• Maintains effective relations with other functional departments and alignment with stakeholders including Operations, PT&E, Legal and Centres of Excellence.

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Ability to work on site full time, during the execution phase.
• 15+ years experience in large scale demolition of industrial facilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management experience.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to report and communicate at an executive level with senior management and Assets.
• Fluency in English.
